Who actually makes this butter? If you know, please get in touch!
Trying to find the manufacturing company for this butter is something we've been working on for weeks. Normally, it wouldn't bother us so much but the name of this butter is intriguing and, to a bit of a language nerd, phonetically fascinating. We desperately need to know about the ö just hanging out in there... and why 'bur'? The whole thing seems slightly more germanic than Italian and we'd like to get to the bottom of it!
Please do get in touch if you have info - we'd love to know! The company website listed below is the one that is apparently listed on the packaging but the website doesn't showcase this particular butter at all and profiles others (that we couldn't get a hold of) instead.

Butter Evaluation
In which we discuss Bur-Bön's unsalted butter.
The frustration with the provenance of the butter itself, sadly, continues. We normally try and be complementary and descriptive so you, the reader, can find butters that have styles and flavour profiles you seek.
Alas, this butter's texture is fairly common. Nice and soft at room temperature with good homogeneity but nothing particularly remarkable about it. It is highly glossy, bright white and spreads well on bread but isn't as substantial as some other butters.
On the nose, the aromas are almost absent which is disappointing because what's left is packaging. If we think really hard and get really close, it's milky like other Italian butters but there's a faint plasticky bitterness from the packaging.
In the mouth, unfortunately, is where this butter just can't deliver. The packaging interference is overwhelming to such a discrete, delicate butter. There are notes of milkiness that come through but on both the tongue and the palate, the plastic bitterness of the packaging is omnipresent and gets in the way.
The only things that save this one is that it's got a lovely silky texture and a nice mouthfeel that coats well and imparts flavour but also doesn't get too claggy.
Final Rundown
Unfortunately, the packaging of this completely gets in the way of anything other than the texture of the butter. We would love to try this one with different packaging.
